Dead Game Alert! Street Fighter V is Only the 2nd Biggest Game at EVO

Bad news Street Fighter fans! It looks like the newest entry in the series is as good as dead after it was revealed that it’s only the second biggest game at EVO this year.

You heard right. This year only 1,929 players will be competing in SFV at EVO, and surely only one hundred thousand or so people will tune in to watch.

In case there’s still any doubt, Street Fighter V was officially pronounced dead earlier this week. Numerous sources that don’t play the game confirmed this to be true.

While the news is unfortunate, Street Fighter V will at least be in good company as it joins other dead games like Tekken 7, Samurai Shodown, Mortal Kombat 11, Under Night In-Birth, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Soul Calibur 6, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, and many others.

Some might say the game is just performing a delayed wake up, but realistically it’s never getting out of this vortex. Sadly, this healthy turnout for the biggest fighting game tournament of the year is just the final nail in the coffin. Rest easy, Street Fighter V.
